न शाम्यति वैरं वैरेण

कदाचित् काशीनगरस्य क्रूरः दुष्टः च महाराजः विजयदत्तः अन्यस्य राज्यस्य गुणवतः प्रजावत्सलस्य राज्ञः धर्मप्रियस्य उपरि आक्रमणं कृतवान् । जयम् अपि प्राप्तवान् । धर्मप्रियः पुत्रम् अर्जनसिंहम् अवदत् 'विजयदत्तस्य विषये मनसि वैरभावं न स्थापयतु' इति । विजयदत्तः धर्मप्रियस्य तस्य पत्न्याः च शिरश्छेदं कारितवान् । गच्छता कालेन अर्जुनसिंहः धर्मप्रियस्य पुत्रः इति अजानन् विजयदत्तस्य अङ्गरक्षकत्वेन नियुक्तः अभवत् । कदाचित् विजयदत्तं मारयितुम् अवकाशः लब्धः चेदपि पितुः वचनं स्मृत्वा त्यक्तवान् ।

The cruel king of Kashi, Vijayadatta, attacked the righteous and beloved ruler of another kingdom, Dharmapriya, and emerged victorious. Dharmapriya advised his son, Arjunasimha, "Do not harbor hatred against Vijayadatta". Later, Vijayadatta executed Dharmapriya and his wife. Over time, unaware of Arjunasimha’s identity, Vijayadatta appointed him as his bodyguard. One day, Arjunasimha had the chance to kill Vijayadatta but, remembering his father’s words, chose to spare him.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
