Everything shifted when Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia. Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, crossed the line and followed Jesus along with his entire household. Many Corinthians believed and were baptized. But Paul was still afraid. He'd been beaten in Philippi, chased out of Thessalonica, run out of Berea, politely dismissed in Athens. Every city had cost him a piece of himself, and he could feel the familiar pattern building again. That's when God spoke in a night vision: "Don't be afraid. Keep speaking. I am with you, and I have many people in this city." Paul stayed eighteen months, the longest stop of the entire journey. In this episode, courage isn't the absence of fear. It's speaking up anyway.
