In this episode of Driven to Lead, our guest Curtis Collar, CEO of Nanotech Energy tells us a story about investing time and resources into a development project that had a high level of merit, but that was ultimately not going to be supported by key members of leadership. In this particular situation, Curtis acknowledges that the executing team had developed an appropriate level of energy and passion for the project, but that this level of attachment perhaps masked the reality from them that perhaps they should not continue to invest time and money into something that would not ultimately become a reality. This story highlights the importance of both external customer needs and the requirement for internal alignment on business priorities.
