वाचः व्रणः

कस्यचित् सरोवरस्य समीपे उपविष्टवन्तं चिन्ताग्रस्तं निर्धनं रामदीनं कश्चन सिंहः प्रभूतं धनं यच्छन् पुत्र्याः विवाहाय मामपि निमन्त्रयतु इति वदति । विवाहदिने सिंहः उपस्थितः । गृहपरिसरे कमपि दुर्गन्धम् अनुभूय वरपक्षीयाः तस्य कारणं अपृच्छन् तदा 'गृहे कश्चन मूषकः मृतः‌ स्यात्'  इति रामदीनः वदति । अग्रे कदाचित् धनस्य आवश्यकताम् अनुभवतः रामदीनस्य साहाय्यं कर्तुं निराकृत्य सिंहः वदति  - 'त्वं स्वपुत्रीविवाहदिने मां मृतः मूषकः इति उक्त्वा अपमानं कृतवान् । शास्त्राघातचिन्हं तु समयेन गच्छति किन्तु वाचः आघातस्य व्रणः कदापि अपगतः न भवति' इति ।

A poor and worried man named Ramadeen was sitting near a lake when a lion offered him money for his daughter's wedding and asked to be invited. On the wedding day, the lion arrived. When the groom's family noticed a bad smell, Ramadeen explained, "A mouse has died in the house." Later, when the lion needed more money, Ramadeen refused to help. The lion said, "You insulted me by calling me a dead mouse at your daughter's wedding. Physical wounds heal with time, but the harm from words never goes away". 

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
