हुतात्मा बालः

१९२९ तमे वर्षे गोवाराज्ये अस्नोडनामके लघुनगरे जन्म प्राप्नोत् बालारायामापारीवर्यः । गोवामुक्तिसङ्ग्रामस्य नेतारं तं जनाः 'बालः' इति शब्देन निर्दिशन्ति स्म । तदा पोर्तुगीज्-शासनम् आसीत् । स्वतन्त्रगोमान्तकदलनामिकायां संस्थायां सः विस्फोटकनिर्माणप्रयोगादिकं, भुशुण्डिचालनादिकं च ज्ञातवान् । १९५५ तमे वर्षे अस्नोडीये आरक्षकालये विस्फोटः जातः येन दशाधिकाः आरक्षाः प्राणवियोगं प्राप्तवन्तः । गोवायाम् इव दादरनागरहवेलीप्रदेशे पोर्तुगीज्-शासनम् आसीत् । स्वतन्त्रगोमान्तकदलस्य प्रयासेन स च प्रदेशः पोर्तुगीज्-शासनात् मुक्तिं प्राप्नोत् इति कारणात् क्रुद्धपोर्तुगीज्-शासनेन २०-२५ स्वातन्त्र्ययोद्धारः गृहीताः । तेषु बालः अपि अन्यतमः । अनेकविधानां पीडानां कारणतः कारागारे एव सः प्राणवियोगं प्राप्नोत् ।

In 1929, in the small town of Assonora in Goa, Balaraya Mapari was born. In the Goa liberation struggle, people referred to him simply as ‘Bala’. At that time, Goa was under Portuguese rule. Bala joined the organization called Swatantra Gomantak Dal, where he learned the use of explosives and firearms. In 1955, a blast at the Assonora police station killed more than ten policemen. Like Goa, the region of Dadra and Nagar Haveli was also under Portuguese rule. Through the efforts of the Swatantra Gomantak Dal, that region was freed, which angered the Portuguese authorities. In retaliation, 20–25 freedom fighters were arrested, Bala among them. Subjected to severe torture, Bala died in prison — a martyr of Goa’s freedom struggle.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
