The Lesley Riddoch Podcast

Seamas Carey is a Cornish artist/bloke best known for the podcast series The Reason Why, a humorous and thought-provoking exploration of the social issues and culture wars of contemporary Cornwall.
He's making his Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut, in a one-man comedy show about "second homes, xenophobia and bagpipes": Help! I Think I’m A Nationalist.

Seamas has watched a wave of gentrification sweep through his hometown in Cornwall. There’s nowhere to live - yet second homes stand empty. At a time when house prices are rocketing, tensions appear to be rising and full-time residents are quickly dwindling in numbers, he asks us if Cornwall is a nation in its own right, or just a holiday destination and playground for the rich?

Seamas is appearing at Lyceum Studio, Venue 593
