Beholder Podcast

Our conversation today is with Cody Martin, a Christian creative living in small town Missouri. Join us as this vulnerable conversation takes us on a journey discussing the influence of others, as well as the affect a trusting community can have on our creativity.

Show Notes

You are listening to Beholder Podcast, conversations with creatives for creatives. This episode begins our series entitled "The Hillspeak Chronicles," which were recorded at an artist retreat at a place called Hillspeak. I did my best to capture the essence of the retreat with banter and nature sounds in the background as the interviews took place.

This episode and transition music recorded, produced, and edited by:
J.D.S. Jones (Beholder Studios)

Our theme song comes from Joplin, Missouri heartthrobs, Guys On A Bus.

What is Beholder Podcast?

You are listening to Beholder Podcast, conversations with creatives for creatives. The only way we, as creatives, know how to express ourselves, so that someone may potentially understand, is through our creativity, our music, our art, things that are aesthetically pleasing, things that are beautiful. Our creations are extensions of our inner self expressed outward. But even when we lay our innards out on the table, fully exposed, others pick apart and piece our work together how they see fit. They do not seek to understand the creator as much as they seek to understand who they are within the creation.

This realization is why Beholder Podcast exists, to help bridge the relationship between creator and observer, because the better we understand the creator, the better we understand the creation, and ultimately, the better we understand ourselves.
