Speaker 1:

Chameleons are broke, and I'm gonna tell you why. Hey, smarties. Welcome to outsmart the hustle, where we turn hard work into smart work, helping you focus on the high impact moves that drive your business forward without getting stuck in the grind. Hello, everybody. This is the first episode ever of Outsmart the Hustle.

Speaker 1:

Whoo. I am so glad that you're here. Cue the confetti. Happy birthday, And side note, I'm actually recording this episode during a tornado watch. LOL.

Speaker 1:

But we're gonna keep doing it. Okay. So you're here because you're either my supportive mother or you're a friend that has heard me talk about this podcast in all of my excitement forever, or you are someone who happened to search my podcast up randomly and, oh my gosh, wow, I can't believe you're here. This is awesome. I mean, I can believe it.

Speaker 1:

I believe in marketing and everything. So just thank you so much for spending your time with me today. You will not regret it. As you've probably gathered from the trailer, this podcast is all about diving into ways to grow your creative business without burning out or losing yourself in the process. So we're gonna go right into it.

Speaker 1:

Whether you're a filmmaker, a photographer, a designer, or any kind of creative entrepreneur, my goal is to help you build the life you wanna keep and sustain. You know? Keep you insane, maybe? Like, just all the things when it comes to being a business. We wear way too many hats as business owners, and I know how crazy it can literally get.

Speaker 1:

I know firsthand how exhausting it could be chasing after clients, juggling creative work, and just feeling like you're running on fumes just to keep it all afloat. I feel you. Just know that hustling doesn't have to be your main game plan. Okay? In fact, today, I wanna start us off with a golden business tip that has changed everything for me.

Speaker 1:

And here it is. Instead of focusing on getting more clients, focus on creating demand for your unique value. Now what does that mean? It means understanding what makes your work different and desirable than crafting a message that shows that. Most creatives try to appeal to everyone and end up blending in.

Speaker 1:

That's pretty key because when you blend in, no one can see you. It's like don't try to be like everybody else. Don't try to be like the person that you feel like is better than you. You need to be you because someone will hire you because of who you are, not for who you're trying to be. If you can find what makes you stand out and communicate it clearly, you'll find some clients looking for you, not the other way around.

Speaker 1:

Think of it like this. If you can position yourself as the go to expert for something specific, you're no longer just competing on price or availability. You're creating demand for something only you offer. And I'll be talking more about that next week when I specifically dive into your UVP or unique value proposition. So, today, I challenge you to think about what makes you unique and valuable and just think beyond the work that you produce.

Speaker 1:

Like, what about your process, your personality, or the way that you serve clients? The clearer you can be about what sets you apart, the more you'll attract the right people without the endless hustle. And next week, we'll go and dive into, like, how we can create that UVP, how very detailed it can be. So definitely come in for next week's episode. And thank you for joining me for this first episode ever.

Speaker 1:

We're just getting started and I've got so much more to share with you in the weeks ahead. If today's tip resonated with you, make sure to subscribe and share out sort of the hustle with a friend who could use a little less grind and a lot more growth. And that's it. Short and sweet. My podcast will be generally pretty short when it's just me, but when I have guests on the show, you can expect anywhere from 20, 40, 60 minute episodes when I have someone else I'm chatting with.

Speaker 1:

But when it's just me, I personally love listening to really short and sweet podcasts that get the point across quickly. So that's how I will also be structuring my podcast. And I would love y'all's opinion on this, and I say y'all, I'm from Texas. Sorry, not sorry. So if you don't like listening to me say y'all, then, I guess, don't listen anymore.

Speaker 1:

But I want y'all's opinion on should I call podcast listeners smarties? Because it's one, a sweet little cute candy that's so vintage, but it's also, like, you're being smart because you're not working harder. You're working smarter. So what do you guys think about being called Smarties? Let me know in the comments, on Instagram, on anywhere.

Speaker 1:

So until next time, remember, there's always a smarter way to build the business of your dreams. You just have to be willing to look for it. I'll see you next week.
