In 1835 the inventor of the Morse code wrote a book, Foreign Conspiracy Against the Liberties of the United States, that exposed Rome and its goal to destroy American civil and religious liberties.
Dr. Samuel Morse cites the Jesuit Order and the House of Hapsburg as the primary enemies of American civil and religious liberties (the same powers common cited by The Truth Project), who were part of a diligent effort on behalf of the counter reformation, or more commonly known as The Jesuit Order, to destroy protestantism. This war rages on today.
In this episode of The Truth Project, we continue our journey through the Seven Churches of Revelation with a study of Sardis—the church that had a name that it lived, but was spiritually dying. Sardis represents the period following the Protestant Reformation, a time when many of the truths recovered from Scripture began to lose their transformative power as churches settled into form without the fullness of faith.
As we examine Sardis, we also explore the rise of the Counter-Reformation and the creation of the Jesuit Order, a movement established to combat the gains of the Reformation and restore the influence of Rome. While many view these events as distant history, we ask whether the same principles and strategies are still operating today beneath different language and modern political movements.
A key focus of this episode is the growing prominence of Marco Rubio as one of the most influential voices within the Trump administration. Increasingly presented as a voice of reason, stability, and international leadership, Rubio's rhetoric and policy positions raise important questions about whose interests are ultimately being advanced. We examine how themes of unity, reconciliation, religious identity, and Western civilization are being framed in modern political discourse, and whether those ideas align with biblical principles or with the historic objectives of Rome as understood by the Reformers.
