๐ฌThe Jersey Nerds are backโand two of sci-fi's deadliest creatures are finally going head-to-head!
This week, we're diving into the crossover that fans waited years to see as we review Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).
๐ฝ Alien vs. Predator โ Whoever wins... we lose. An expedition beneath the Antarctic ice discovers an ancient pyramid hiding something far more dangerous than archaeology. We break down the first cinematic showdown between the Xenomorphs and Predators, the mythology connecting the two species, the Antarctic setting, the action, and whether AVP delivers on the crossover fans had imagined for years.
๐ Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem โ The battle comes home. Picking up after the first film's cliffhanger, Requiem unleashes Xenomorphs, a Predator, and the terrifying Predalien on a small Colorado town. We discuss the sequel's darker horror approach, increased brutality, infamous lighting, the Predalien, and whether going bigger and bloodier actually made for a better AVP movie.
๐๏ธ In this episode, we discuss:
๐ฝ Xenomorph vs. Predator โ which creature comes out looking stronger?
โ๏ธ The Best Battles & Kills โ our favorite moments from both crossover films
๐๏ธ Expanded Mythology โ how AVP attempts to connect the histories of Aliens, Predators, and humanity
๐ Franchise Rankings โ where both movies land after our journey through the Alien and Predator universes
