Show Notes

Continuing the series 'The Medical Doctor's Journey: Non- Traditional Pathways' The Layman's Doctor speaks with Dr. Akeen Matthews who after completing his two foundation years after medical school decided to turn his passion for cooking into a business. In 2021 the risk of unemployment for Senior House Officers whose contracts came to an end pushed him to open Tawah, a Trinidadian restaurant serving authentic and popular Trinidadian street food in Jamaica. We discuss how he did it and how health care workers in similar situations can turn their non medical talents into viable businesses.
