विश्वासः नास्ति किम् ?

कदाचित् कश्चित् दरिद्रः मन्दिरे गणेशं प्रार्थयते यत् गृहगमनसमये मार्गे यथा धनं प्राप्नुयां तथा माम् अनुगृह्णातु इति । यत् प्राप्नोमि तस्य अर्धभागं भवते अर्पयामि इति । आश्चर्यम्! मार्गमध्ये किञ्चित् धनं दृष्टिगोचरम् अभवत् । तत्र पञ्चाशत् रूप्यकाणि आसन् । मन्दिरं गत्वा गणेशस्य पुरतः स्थित्वा 'किं भवतः मयि विश्वासः नास्ति ? यद् लभ्यते तत्र अर्धभागं निश्चयेन भवते समर्पयामि इति अहम् उक्तवान् खलु‌? तर्हि भवान् किमर्थं पूर्वमेव पञ्चाशत् रूप्यकाणि स्वीकृत्य अवशिष्टानि पञ्चाशत् रूप्यकाणि तत्र स्थापितवान्' इति उक्त्वा गणेशाय किमपि समर्पणम् अकृत्वा सः ततः गृहं प्रति गतवान् ।

A poor man prayed to Lord Ganesha at a temple, asking for a blessing to find money on his way home. He promised to offer half of whatever he received to Ganesha. Miraculously, he found fifty coins on the road. Returning to the temple, he stood before Ganesha and said, “Do you not trust me? I promised to offer half of whatever I find. But why have you already taken fifty coins and left only fifty for me?” Thinking this way, he left without making any offering to Ganesha.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
