100 Greatest Inventions

In this episode we look at the accidental invention of the Silk Roads. The trade between East and West and then between West and East bound Eurasia together in a more complete manner than any religion or culture ever had. Disrupted by war and disease, the Silk Road was only ended as we know it with the discovery on the Americas and the Columbian Exchange proved more lucrative for Europe than internecine conflict with the Muslim powers in the Levant and the high prices from Beijing.
