In chapter 37, the Alter Rebbe reminds us that just as a candle cannot illuminate its own container, our intellect can’t grasp its source, the essence of god. Yet, this realization should not discourage us, but rather ignite within us a burning desire to connect with the divine.  This longing, this yearning, becomes our prayer, a testament to the soul’s eternal bond with its creator. Even when shrouded in darkness, the soul’s innate connection to god yearns for illumination. Let us strive to make space for that yearning, allowing it to guide us towards greater spiritual clarity.
