Lola Ben Alon is Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation - where she directs both the Natural Materials Lab, and the Building Technology curriculum.

Her work has been exhibited in some of the most prestigious museums and events in the field of architecture and design; she curates and serves on several highly regarded boards in the field, And of course – she’s a proud Technion alum!

In this episode, she talks about rammed earth, straw and clay, ancient recipes for cutting-edge 3D printers; why “concrete is not the enemy”; and lessons she learned about building… from insects!
