पातिव्रत्यप्रभावः

प्रतिष्ठानपुरे सुदती पतिव्रतपरा स्वं कुष्ठरोगपीडितं पतिं कौशिकं श्रद्धया असेवत । एकदा तं स्कन्धे आरोप्य रात्रौ अनयत् । तदा प्रमादवशात् राजभटाः माण्डव्यमुनिं चोरत्वेन शूलारोपणाय नीतवन्तः । कौशिकस्य पादस्पर्शात् माण्डव्यमुनिः क्रुद्धः भूत्वा तम् अशपत् 'सूर्योदयात् पूर्वं पञ्चत्वम् आप्नोतु' इति । व्याकुला सुदती सूर्यदेवं प्रार्थितवती, परन्तु कौशिकः सपदि मृतः अभवत् । सूर्यदेवः शापग्रस्तः उदयं प्राप्तुम् असमर्थः जातः। दुर्दशां परिहर्तुं सुराः अनसूयादेवीं सम्प्राप्य तां प्रार्थितवन्तः । अनसूया सुदतीं सम्प्राप्य अवदत् 'यदि भवतीं सूर्योदयं साधयितुं शक्नोति, तर्हि पतिदेवं पुनर्जीवितं करिष्यामि' इति । सुदती आत्मदत्तं शापं प्रतिस्वीकृतवती, ततः सूर्यः उदितः। अनसूयादेव्याः पातिव्रत्यप्रभावेण कौशिकः पुनर्जीवितः अभवत् । इन्द्रादयः अनसूयां स्तुतवन्तः ।

Sudati, a devoted wife, cared for her ailing husband, Kaushika. One night, as she carried him, Kaushika's feet touched Mandavya sage who was mistakenly taken by royal guards as a thief. The enraged sage cursed him to die before sunrise. Though Sudati prayed to the Sun God, Kaushika perished, and the Sun couldn't rise. To restore balance, the gods sought Anasuya’s help. She told Sudati that if she ensured sunrise, Kaushika would be revived. Sudati accepted the curse, allowing the Sun to rise, and Anasuya restored Kaushika. The gods then praised Anasuya’s virtue.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
