Belgian Trappist monasteries are known for their strong, flavorful beers, such as the Dubbel and Trippel. However, monks at these monasteries do not typically consume these beers regularly. Instead, these monks drink a lighter, hoppier Belgian brew known as Trappist Single at many monasteries. Unfortunately, few commercial versions of this style exist, and even fewer are available in the US, so Mike decided to try his hand at brewing his own.
