Shorter Topics

Senior center programming is coming directly to neighborhoods across Prince William County, thanks to an innovative, collaborative approach led by the Area Agency on Aging.

In the latest episode of Shorter Topics, County Executive Chris Shorter sits down with Josh Lee, Acting Director of the Area Agency on Aging, and Chad Tyrrell, Parks Manager with Prince William County Parks & Recreation, to discuss the new Senior Center Without Walls program and the partnership helping bring it to life.

This pilot program reflects creative, cross-agency thinking focused on meeting residents where they are. By bringing senior center services into community-based locations, the program makes it easier for older adults to participate in activities that support healthy aging, social connection and overall well-being. Instead of traveling to a traditional senior center, residents can access programs closer to home and stay connected within their communities.
