The parables of Jesus go beyond simple stories of the time, though they do work on that level, as well. Through these stories, he was able to teach, to love, to help people from every nation, faith, and even era.

For us, the parable of the three servants/talents seems a little odd.  The point isn't in the amount each servant got, though, but in how much of themselves they gave.  We aren't always going to be as successful as we'd like, especially when compared to others, but if we do our best...if we show love, seek peace, and live on hope...then that's going to make a difference.
