In the second part of the interview from episode three, we get into Nelson's testimony as an Asian American with Foreign-born parents from Korea. He shares his story of finding Christ, his relationship with Wendy, and what role the church played in his salvation. Nelson speaks candidly about the challenges he faced as a first-generation American finding faith, starting a career, and finding love.
Nelson was born in Durham, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelors in Chemistry from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and just like Wendy he too is employed with AstraZeneca. Nelson is also very involved in the community. This is part 2 of the story between Wendy and Nelson story. If you missed last week’s episode you’ll want to go back and catch it as you’ll see God used Wendy in making today’s episode with Nelson possible.
"I was certainly exploring my spirituality at a certain point. I just recently moved from Asheville to Durham to the triangle and so I was getting adjusted to working a new job. I had just left my friend group and was struggling to find a new one. Outside of work, there wasn't much going on in my life aside from, occasional visits with family, but other than that, it was pretty lonely, so I started reaching out thinking about going to Churches and religious organizations to see how spirituality fit would fit into my life. Because I would say I certainly was agnostic until I met Wendy and it really wasn't until she took me to church that I really felt that I could identify with Jesus." - Nelson
"I think it was very easy for me to get caught up in the smaller things in life. The Superficial things in life, and it really wasn't until I met Wendy and I went to church with her that there's so much more to what we can do with our lives. There's so much more we can do to serve our community and there's so much more that we can do to help others and spread the word of Jesus and to learn that was a very humbling experience for me." - Nelson
