अमृतं प्राप्तुम् अर्हति सः एव

आसीत् रामदासः नाम कश्चित् गुरुः यः शिष्याणां परीक्षां कर्तुम् ऐच्छत् । तदर्थं सः एकं फलं पादे संस्थाप्य, तं वस्त्रपट्टिकया बद्धवान् च । वेदनायाः शान्त्यर्थं तस्मात् पिटकात् स्वमुखेन पूयं चूषणीयम् इति यदा गुरुः शिष्येभ्यः वदति तदा शिष्याः स्तब्धाः अभवन् । 'गुरुः प्राणरक्षणार्थं किं भवत्सु कोऽपि नास्ति किम्?’ इति गुरुः यदा पृच्छति तदा सहसा एव कश्चन शिष्यः पिटकात् मुखेन पूयस्य चूषणम् आरब्धवान् । आश्चर्यम्! पिटकात् न पूयं निर्गतम्, अपि तु अतिमधुरः आम्ररसः । आनन्दितः गुरुः वदति 'विषं पातुं महत् धैर्यम् आवश्यकम् । एषः न सामान्यः । भाविनि काले जगत्प्रसिद्धः नृपः भवति' इति । एषः एव बालकः भाविनि काले 'छत्रपतिः शिवाजिः’ इति ख्यातिं गतः ।

There was a guru named Ramdas who wished to test his disciples. To do so, he placed a fruit on his foot and tied it with a cloth strip. He then told his disciples that to relieve his pain, someone must suck out the pus from the wound. Shocked, the disciples remained silent. The guru asked, ‘Is there no one among you who can save me?’. Suddenly, one disciple stepped forward and began sucking from the wound. To everyone's surprise, instead of pus, sweet mango juice emerged. Delighted, the guru declared, ‘Drinking poison requires great courage. This boy is no ordinary person—one day, he will become a renowned ruler’. That very boy later became the legendary ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji’.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
