The Drop with Danno on GFN 광주영어방송

We pay tribute to The High Priestess of Soul on the anniversary of her full-length debut in 1958 in "Little Blue Girl." We then went through the latest funk & soul just out along with new rock in our 2nd hour, with a bonus rant from Dan Lloyd.

Show Notes

As broadcast June 24, 2021 with bonus bows for The High Priestess.  We mark this date in 1958 when Nina Simone made her full-length debut.  A singular figure in music history, there was never any half steppin with the one they called The High Priestess of Soul but we at Drop Central are convinced was an actual goddess of truth & light.  Our Sampled first hour featured great new tunes from Kamasi Washington, Moodymann, Horse Meat Disco & Peggy Gou, while our 2nd hour was a tremendous blend of new rock tunes from The Wildhearts, Gang of Youths, New Found Glory, along with our rock maestro ripping apart the "Bandsplaining" podcast to finish the night right.
