What prevents us from responding properly to Jesus? In our passage, we see someone who gets what he has been waiting 38 years for, and seems totally unaffected by God’s gracious gift. Even the religious leaders observing the miracle care more about their religious traditions than a man being healed. We are going to look at three main ways that hinder us from responding to Jesus with trust in him, and with each we will see how through Jesus we can overcome these.
