Mitrice Richardson was released from the Lost Hills Sheriff Station in California hours after deputies assured her mother, Lattice, that they would hold her overnight and that she would be safe there. Eleven months later, her body was found in Dark Canyon, 6.5 miles from the police station she was released from. Her killer has not been caught.
