Welcome to episode #18! In this week's episode, Matt and Braden go taboo, tackling what goes on behind closed doors to help make sure you can have guilt-free, enjoyable sex in marriage.
People Have Questions
Not everyone is 100% sure on the sex acts God wants us to enjoy and what He wants us to stay away from in marriage. If that's you, it's okay. Your heart is likely for God and for your spouse if you're wanting to make sure what you're doing is healthy and wise. God wants us to have guilt-free, enjoyable sex and made our bodies so that we'd be able to do so.
Other People Aren't Invited
Sex is most enjoyed and profitable when it's exclusively between a husband and a wife in marriage, both of whom are seeking to bring pleasure to the other. Bringing other people into your marriage bed is hugely damaging, but you may do it in ways you don't realize. Thinking about others, porn, fantasy, or physically bringing other people into your bed, are all ways that we bring others into our sex life. If role play is what you're into, it should be done safely, without leading to thoughts about people outside your marriage.
Honour Each Other And Communicate
If things like sex toys are used as a replacement for your spouse, they could lead to a slippery slope that ends in division, feelings of inadequacy, and shutting down. Honour the other person's presence and feelings whenever you engage - or thinking about engaging - in a new sexual activity. Talk about how things are making you feel and consult your spouse on how they feel as well. If there's agreement and the activity is healthy, we believe God looks on that with a smile!
