What is hope?
For many people, hope is little more than wishful thinking—a desire that things might somehow work out. But in Romans 5, the Apostle Paul presents a radically different vision. Christian hope is not uncertain. It is grounded in the unchanging love of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Jordan Griesbeck explores the foundation of Christian hope and how that hope is formed within us. Because Christ died for us while we were still sinners, we can be certain of God's love. Because we belong to Him, we can be confident that our future is filled with glory. And because these promises are secure, even suffering becomes a means through which God shapes our character and deepens our hope.
Drawing on the lives of figures such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer and reflecting on Paul's words in Romans, this message reminds us that hope is not naïve optimism. It is the confident expectation that God is with us and that He is leading us toward a future filled with goodness and beauty.
