जठरे धराम्यहम्

कदाचित् यमुनानद्याः अन्यत् तीरं‌ गन्तुम् इष्टवान् महामुनिः व्यासः बुभुक्षां निवारयितुं तत्रत्याः गोपीः नवनीतं दुग्धं च अपृच्छत् । खादनानन्तरं व्यासदेवः करौ संयोज्य 'हे यमुने! यदि अहं अद्य किमपि न खादितवान्, तर्हि भवती नदीजलस्य विभागद्वयं करोतु येन वयं सुखेन अन्यत् तीरं गन्तुं शक्नुयाम' इति प्रार्थयते । यदा यमुना भागद्वयेन विभक्ता जाता तदा गोपीनां महत् आश्चर्यं सञ्जातम् । तदनन्तरं व्यासः अवदत् 'मनुष्यः यं कर्म करोति तत् ब्रह्मार्पणबुद्ध्या न करोति । तदा कर्मणः बन्धः न भवति .......’ इति । एतत् श्रुत्वा गोप्यः विस्मिताः अभवन् ।

Once, Sage Vyasa wished to cross the Yamuna River. To satisfy his hunger, he asked the local cowherd women for butter and milk, which they offered him. After eating, he folded his hands and prayed, “O Yamuna! If I have not eaten anything today, then divide your waters so we may cross with ease”. Miraculously, the river split into two, leaving the cowherd women in astonishment. Vyasa then explained, “When one dedicates all actions to the Divine, they are freed from bondage”. Hearing this, the women were left in awe.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
