स्वातन्त्र्यम् आनन्दः च

कदाचित् प्रजानुरागी राजा अरण्यमार्गे गच्छन् आसीत् । कश्चन अजापालकः वृक्षस्य अधः उपविश्य वेणुवादने मग्नः आसीत् । राजा अपृच्छत् 'साम्राज्यमेव प्राप्तवान् इव महति आनन्दे मग्नः भवान् वेणुवादनं करोति' इति । तदा अजापालकः अवदत् 'वस्तुतः वेणुवादनस्य साम्राज्यप्राप्तेः च न सादृश्यम् । अहं तु भगवच्चिन्तनं कुर्वन् सर्वचिन्ताभ्यः मुक्तः सन् मनोवाक्कायकर्मसु स्वतन्त्रः । धनस्य स्वातत्न्त्र्यस्य आनन्दस्य च न कोऽपि सम्बन्धः' इति । तस्य चिन्तनस्य श्रेष्ठताम् अवगच्छन् राजा तं नमस्कृतवान् ।

A benevolent king was once traveling through a forest. Beneath a tree sat a goatherd, absorbed in playing his flute. The king asked, “You play with such joy, as though you had gained an empire.” The goatherd replied, “Flute playing is not like ruling a kingdom. I am engaged in divine contemplation, free from all worries, independent in thought, word, and deed. Joy has no link with wealth or power.” Realizing the greatness of his reflection, the king bowed to him.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
