Tonight we open the show celebrating the 71st birthday of Kid Creole, aka August Darnell, born on this date in The Bronx in 1950. The founder of both Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band and The Coconuts, a true mischievous creative titan of the game. After the opener, we had nothing but new tunes beyond that in our first hour, with new joints from MF Robots, Paul & The Tall Trees, Brian Jackson, and so many other highly worthy candidates and friends of the program. For our 2nd hour, there was lots of good in the rock world this week, but very notable huge swings & misses by Guns n Roses, Tom Morello, and Maneskin that are such car crashes we could not help but listen to the wreckage on air. Great tunes otherwise from the likes of Dan Andriano & The Bygones, Jail Socks, and Slothrust as well to even out the palette.
