GM’s now in the electric pickup biz with the Chevy Silverado EV. It’ll debut a year after the Ford 150. Specs claim 400 miles per charge, and it comes with 10 power ports for equipment or to charge other vehicles.  Starting price is 40k but some models will top $100,000.

Labor Department reports initial claims for unemployment rose to 207,000, a bit more than expected as the omicron variant spreads. The labor market is tightening amid an acute shortage of workers. With coronavirus infection, driven by the Omicron variant, expected to peak soon, a substantial rise in claims is unlikely. We’ll see fresh payroll numbers tomorrow. Economists are expecting 422,000 jobs. The announcement comes after December’s incredible job growth of 807,000, more than doubling Dow Jone’s prediction. Let’s pay attention to it tomorrow.
