Summary

In this episode we cover the good the bad and the ugly of cholesterol. What it is, what it does and how you can protect yourself from its bad effects.

Show Notes

In this Podcast, we met with Dr Kate Shipman, chemical pathologist and expert in the management of raised cholesterol and lipids.

We cover what cholesterol is, what it does, the effects of excess cholesterol on the body and what you can do to protect yourself from them. We of course cover statins, the benefits of taking them and potential side-effects (Spoiler alert – they are really safe).

Please check out our website where there is a glossary of terms we use which may not be familiar but if you notice any others not there, let me know and I will add them!

What is The Doctor Family?

We host a family medicine podcast discussing health issues affecting every family. We are a married couple of family doctors practicing in the UK. We will give what we feel is a more accurate and balanced coverage of the health and medicine issues in the news and explain these issues in plain English!

We also work to debunk health myths we come across in the media and online. Join us on our journey
