Meet Ian Meredith, a dedicated family man and esteemed (HUGE reputation- Walks the Walk) Surface Warfare Officer who hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee.  He has been LISTENING, mentoring, and nurturing his loving wife and four adopted boys.
In his current role as the Director of OOD Phase 1 & 2 at Mariner Skills Training Center Atlantic in Norfolk, Ian is responsible for ensuring the highest level of training and preparedness among the officers under his command. Despite a busy professional life, he always makes time for his family, enthusiastically participating in his children’s sports and other activities. A diehard Atlanta Braves fan, Ian also enjoys running, although he admits he’s not a fan of lifting weights.
Ian’s journey began in Chattanooga, where he graduated from Notre Dame High School. He then moved on to the prestigious United States Naval Academy in 2010, which he credits for instilling in him the strong work ethic and unyielding commitment to success that have shaped his career. Over the years, Ian has held various positions in the Navy, including serving on the USS GETTYSBURG, USS STOCKDALE, and USS MASON, and even earning a master’s degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School.
As someone who has always embodied the spirit of a Navy football player, Ian’s life story is filled with determination, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to his family and the Brotherhood. His inspiring journey of adopting four children and overcoming personal obstacles.  This dude truly showcases the strength of character that defines him (thankful to his family). With a plethora of memorable stories to share, Ian’s experiences are a testament to the power of perseverance, teamwork, and the bonds forged by THE NFB mentality.
