Not The Summer I Wanted | GenXpert ((#0026)Rick Carman (00:00)Hey everybody, it's Rick Carman again. Welcome back to GenXpert. And we are in day 24. That's right, day 24 of the Patriot Push Up Challenge. we're doing 31 push-ups for 31 days of July to honor our Patriots and our veterans, and anybody else who had a hand in making this country great, the great freedom, free country that it is. And so we're on day 24. I'm so excited. One more week left.Next Friday will be the end of this Patriot Challenge. I'm getting so strong, but I'm also getting so tired. And and maybe we'll have some different kind of videos coming at you the next week, falling that week. So let's get these push-ups out of the way. It's getting kind of warm out here. I gotta go to the store, gotta go get some gasoline for the mowers and all that stuff. So let's let's get these push-ups done.myOne, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirty, thirty-one,Before you say didn't go all the way down, my shirt was hanging. Cause I'm cause I'm you know a lot smaller than my shirt now. So it looked like I didn't go all the way down, guys. I know you're out there, but I did. I did go all the way down. Well maybe on a few I didn't. Who knows? But anyway. Yeah, it's hot on the farm today. We did a lot of mowing yesterday. We got some to do today, got to cut some trees down, all that stuff. you know, I realized today, I don't know about you, but I had a lot of plans this summer, you know. I had a lot of things on my plate this summer to do. And it's already almost August. And I'm not done with even half of them. So the summer kindaI I think because of all the rain the summer kinda got away from me. We had so much rain that my my schedule of stuff that I need to do outside the projects that I had planned and all that it kinda got thrown in the back burner. And so now I'm coming up on school starting in August where my schedule's gonna have to change d dramatically to take my kids to school, or one of them anyway. And so my project list is gonna have to change because with the break in the day, taking the kids to school, picking them up, and then going to martial arts and different activities and stuff like that, my project list is gonna have to change, get smaller. So I didn't get what I wanted done this summer. I had big plans this summer. This summer was gonna be the summer of me. And doing all this stuff, getting all this stuff done that I wanted to get done. But I spent most of the time watching it rain, then mowing, watching it rain, then mowing again. so I'm kind of disappointed. But I guess I could look back and say, what did I accomplish? You know, what what did I get accomplished? What what projects did I get done? I started a new project with this channel, so this this channel kind of took a lot a lot of my time, at least early on.I was trying to figure out how to do it and I'm still I'm still learning. But this channel is important to me because if I could just reach one person, one of you guys, and give you some good advice or or bring somebody to Jesus, or you know, just tell my story where somebody can relate and know that you're not going through something alone, then then I'll be happy. That's just just one person. There's just one person out there, I'll be happy. So it's worth it. You know, it's worth it to me. It's giving me new life and all that. But on the other side, I still have projects to do, I still have life to live. you know, I don't make any money doing this channel, so I've got I've got to earn my keep around here. So so that's that's kind of where I'm at with this.
