Women and Credit

It is demotivating to have someone take credit for your hard work, and women are mostly victimized. There is a difference in the way men and women are socialized, as told by Mary. As a result, varying expectations are placed, and different behaviors come out in adulthood. When it comes to sharing views, men are encouraged to be active, competitive, and full-flight. Women, meanwhile, are encouraged to be dim, considerate, and gentle. Because of this, women are much prone to have their credit taken as opposed to men. It all boils down to socialization, and Mary’s strategic approach to turn the situation around is to have a network of allies. Through this network, it encourages you to tell people even the smallest of victories. It is a small step that progresses gradually.

Humility in the Right Place

Humility is an excellent quality, but there are times when it does not serve you. For example, some people are conflicted between taking credit and staying humble. Humility is not to be used as a lead to get your point across, set boundaries, and address things. It must be understood that it is only one of the tools in the box and is not to be used all the time. Go ahead and take the credit you deserve for the job done. Humility is also giving someone the spotlight for their achievement and not take center stage for them.
