Join Jaxon Haldane in conversation with Keri Latimer in this season’s Home Routes Podcast finale, as they discuss coping strategies used over the past year, what new opportunities arose from the lockdown and what the new live show reality might look like. Also Keri talks about her passion about the history of synthesizers, about laying down harmonies on other people’s projects and tells us about her experience with Stories to Songs project made in collaboration with Crescent Arts Centre.
Keri Latimer is a musician from Winnipeg, Manitoba and frontwoman of the band Leaf Rapids. She has been touring internationally for 15 years and has been recognized with numerous Canadian music awards most notably a JUNO.
Career highlights include featured theremin performances with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and contributing scores to films including Academy Award nominated, Frozen River; Guy Maddin’s, Only Dream Things; and Shelagh Carter’s feature film, Before Anything You Say for which she was awarded a 2018 Breakout West Award for Visual Media Composer of the Year.
With the help of Canada Council, the Winnipeg Arts Council and the Manitoba Arts Council Keri is currently composing an album of music for theremin.
