सर्वश्रेष्ठा गुरुदक्षिणा

कस्मिंश्चित् गुरुकुले गुरुदक्षिणारूपेण किं देयम् इति यदा विद्यार्थिनः गुरुं पृच्छन्ति तदा गुरु वदति - यत् अधीतं तस्य सम्यक् अनुष्ठानं क्रियताम् । स्वावलम्बितया जीवनं कृत्वा वर्षाभ्यन्तरे यत् सम्पाद्येत तत्र कश्चन भागः दीयताम्' । विद्यार्थिनः तथैव कुर्वन्ति । कदाचित् कश्चित् तेजस्वी बालः वर्षाभ्यन्तरे  प्रत्यागत्य दश बालान् आनीय - 'यथाशक्ति मया पाठयित्वा एताः भवच्छिष्यार्हताः कृताः। इतः परं भवान् एतान् अध्याप्य सन्मार्गगामिनः कुर्यात्' इत्युक्त्वा गुरुदक्षिणारूपेण अर्पयति। एतया सर्वश्रेष्ठगुरुदक्षिणया सन्तुष्टः गुरुः तं बालं सर्वषु शिष्येषु श्रेठः अस्ति भवान् इति वदति ।

Once, when students asked their guru what to give as guru dakshina, the guru said, ‘Practice what you've learned, earn through your own efforts, and give part of it as guru dakshina after a year’ and the students did the same. After a year, a bright student returned with ten others, saying, ‘I have taught them as best as I could. Now, you guide them’ and offered this as his guru dakshina. The guru, pleased, said, ‘You are the best among all my students’.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
