उत्तङ्कमेघाः

कुरुक्षेत्रयुद्धानन्तरं द्वारकां प्रति प्रस्थितेन श्रीकृष्णेन मार्गे महर्षिः उत्तङ्कः मिलितः ।  वादविवादयोः अनन्तरं मुनिः भगवतः यथार्थं स्वरूपं ज्ञात्वा विश्वरूपं दर्शयितुं प्रार्थयते । विश्वरूपं दृष्टवान् हृष्टः च मुनिः कृष्णं स्तोत्रैः तोषयति । कृष्णः 'वरं याच' इति यदा वदति तदा मुनिः 'अस्यां मरुभूमौ यदा अहम् अपेक्षां कुर्यां तदा जलं प्रत्यक्षीभवतु' इति वदति ।  कृष्णस्य वाक्यानुसारम् इदानीमपि उत्तङ्कमुनिः तृषार्तान् जनान् मरुभूमौ तर्पयितुं मेघान् प्रार्थयते । ते एव मेघाः 'उत्तङ्कमेघाः' इति ख्यातिं गताः । ते मेघाः जलप्रदानेन जनान् हर्षयन्ति ।

After the Kurukshetra War, when Sri Krishna was on his way to Dwarka, he met the sage Uttanka on the way. After a debate, the sage, realizing the true form of the Lord, requested to see his universal form. Delighted upon seeing the universal form, the sage praised Krishna with hymns. When Krishna asked him to request a boon, the sage said, "In this desert, whenever I am in need, may water appear." As per Krishna's words, even now, Sage Uttanka prays to the clouds to quench the thirst of the people in the desert. Those very clouds became known as 'Uttanka clouds.' These clouds bring joy to the people by providing water.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
