Johanna “Wildoak” hosts Wildoak Living, the radio program about sustainability and building community in Mendocino County and beyond. This week, Johanna talks with Janet Jakobsen, professor of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Columbia’s Barnard College. They discuss how sexual politics show up virtually everywhere, from healthcare to economics to war and peace, and play out in debates over trans rights, pay equity and domestic work. In her book The Sex Obsession, Jakobsen recast sexual politics as a means of cultivating social justice and as a First Amendment issue. Wildoak Living airs every other Thursday at 9am on KZYX.
