Did you know that your brain literally changes shape based on what you're focused on? You know the saying, you get out of something what you put into it. Well, the same holds true for your brain. If you are focused on anxiety and things that are stressing you out, your brain rewires itself to focus on more of that. Conversely, if you focus on gratefulness and positive thinking, your brain will rewire itself to search out more of that. So however you start your day directly affects the future of your day and tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next. If you can focus for five or 10 seconds on something positive, your brain will start to rewire itself and look out for more opportunities to think positively.
