The Lyons Den Radio Show

This week on The Lyons Den, host George Lyons takes listeners on a deep musical journey across classic rock, jazz fusion, reggae, funk, and psychedelic rock before closing the show with a legendary live performance from the Grateful Dead.

Broadcast from the studios of 91.5 KUNV at UNLV in Las Vegas, the program opens with grooves from Barry White before moving through a powerful set of music featuring Herbie Hancock, Benny Golson, The Bar-Kays, Bill Withers, and Weather Report. The first hour continues with reggae classics from Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh alongside funk and soul favorites from War, Tower of Power, and Rare Earth.

The second half of the program dives into progressive rock and classic album cuts from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Genesis, and King Crimson before highlighting Bob Dylan’s “Jokerman” from his 1983 album Infidels.

The show concludes with an incredible archival recording from the Grateful Dead live at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia on November 30, 1980, featuring the entire second set of the concert.
