Nourishing Her Midlife Rest: Body & Soul | Perimenopause, Holistic Nutrition & Life Coaching for Christian Women

Why does it feel so hard to take care of yourself in midlife… even when you know what to do?
If you’ve been navigating fatigue, body changes, or the quiet weight of everything you’re carrying…
and finding it harder than you expected to follow through on what you know helps…
you’re not alone.
In this episode, we gently slow this down.
Because what feels like a lack of discipline…
is often something much deeper.
And what your body is asking for in this season…
may not be more effort—
but a different kind of care.

This episode is part of the “Steady in Midlife” series—a gentle path from urgency, pressure, and overwhelm toward steadiness in this season of life.

Ready for a steadier way forward?
If you’re tired of starting over…
pushing harder…
and still feeling stuck…
and you’re longing for a way of caring for your body and your life
that actually fits this season—
I’d love to walk with you.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode
Why it can feel so hard to take care of yourself—even when you know what to do
How pressure, burnout, and lack of margin affect your ability to follow through
The hidden weight behind “I should be doing better”
Why exhaustion and resistance are not signs of failure—but signals from your body
How years of carrying responsibility can shape the way you respond to your needs
A gentle shift from pushing through → toward receiving care and restoration

A Gentle Reminder
If you’ve been thinking:
“I just need to get it together”
“Why is this still so hard?”
“I should be able to do better than this”
You’re not doing this wrong.
Your body isn’t asking for more pressure.
It may be asking for rest.
For space.
For support.

A Small Practice to Try
The next time you feel that pressure rise…
Pause.
Take one slow breath.
And gently ask:
“What might my body be asking for right now…
that I haven’t had space to listen to?”
Not to fix it.
Just to notice.

Why This Matters
When your body is under constant pressure…
or moving toward burnout…
it shifts into a stress response.
And from that place:
your energy can feel low
your motivation can fade
simple things feel harder than they should
Not because you’re failing—
but because your body is tired.
This is why “trying harder” often doesn’t work.
Because your body doesn’t need more pressure.
It needs a place to recover.
