That's Different

"You shouldn't expect that everything is going to go easy, because it never will. And finding solutions is pretty fun, in the end." This episode we talk with Val + Tim, of The Nomads Bus. A few years back this couple shipped an American school bus to Europe and turned it into a roaming hostel. People come from all over the world to join them and their family on epic adventures throughout Europe. During the episode we talk about life on the road, living on $9 euro a day, having the mindset that it takes to follow your unique passions, and more. This whole episode is incredibly inspiring - couldn't think of a better way to kick off the season!

Show Notes

We start off season one of That’s Different with Val and Tim of the Nomad’s Bus. Val and Tim are a couple who have created a rolling hostel out of a converted American schoolbus. The bus is equipped with 6 bunks, a bedroom, a woodturning stove, dining area, bathroom, shower, and the crown jewel: a rooftop terrace!

The couple, along with their 2 children and dog, spend their days leading people from around the world on epic adventures throughout Europe.

I joined them on the bus for a week-long trip through the most northern part of Norway in the Summer of 2019. If you can, check out the video version of the pod so you can see the inside of the bus and footage from the trip.

We talk about a wide variety of topics including their inspiration, life before the bus, optimism, living on 9 euros a day, Santiago de Compostela, and what it takes to conquer self-doubt.
