Sounds Like These by ICMP London

Lara chats with Justin Boreland, rapper, producer, and educator, currently teaching on ICMP's BA Creative Music Production programme.

Show Notes

Justin (aka Merlin, his artist name) joined the group Bomb The Bass at the age of 16 and a year later was signed to American label Sire Records (Madonna, Ice-T). With such great success also came something else: Justin ended up in prison for three months. While doing his time, Justin realised something that would change his life completely: he promised himself not to ever end back there again and also to commit to helping other young people facing a similar experience to never go back to prison again and to show them a different path... Through music. Justin has since based his whole life and career on this, working with at-risk youth and ex-offenders, while also continuing to develop his creative talent (collecting many top 10 successes in the UK).
