Cloud providers can inspect data in use, a vulnerability in standard containers, which is addressed by confidential computing that protects container data from the cloud host. Confidential computing uses hardware-level Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to encrypt container memory, excluding the cloud provider from reading working memory.
