Briege Leahy is the current CEO of the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce. In this interview, we discuss her career, the choices she made, and very importantly the attitude that she took as a woman operating in various Board level positions. As a ‘baby boomer’ woman, she experienced the challenges of breaking into a man’s world, standing up for herself, asking for what she wanted, and then taking the entrepreneurial risks of starting her own business. She succeeded in strongly growing her company and then selling it. Her approach in going after what she wanted demonstrates the belief in herself and straightforward approach that can aid anyone suffering from ‘imposter syndrome’ – she just does not go there!
