In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet Randy Perkins. Randy and I have been friends since elementary school. We were high school teammates on our football team, and he was our running back. Randy graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. He has over 30 years in law enforcement and currently is a Financial Crimes Investigator for the City of Irving. Randy and his wife Teresa have been married for 21 years. While in perfectly good health, at the age of 58, Randy sustained a heart attack while getting ready for work. Randy told his wife Teresa that he was not feeling well, and Teresa immediately told him to go to the Emergency room, where he was diagnosed as having a heart attack. According to the American Heart Association, approximately every 40 seconds an American will have a heart attack. In the US, there will be an estimated 720,000 new attacks per year and 14% never survive. Randy is here to tell his story of how he overcame his heart attack and what symptoms you shouldn't ignore. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Randy Perkins.
I hope to inspire, motivate, and inform my followers what it's like to be disabled and how I overcame adversity due to my tragic accident. My interviews will include in-depth conversations with individuals who also overcame adversity and continue to win, and we'll dive into the perspective of medical field experts and professionals on how they help the disabled.
