Don't Eat Your Young: A Nursing Podcast

Maureen Osuna chose nursing as a career later in life than most traditional students do. She believes that has helped her become the amazing mentor that she is today for students in nursing school. In this episode, Maureen shares her story of how she came to be a nursing educator in a non-traditional way – and why her followers love her!

Show Notes

Maureen Osuna was in advertising before deciding later in life that she wanted to be a nurse. Because of that, she has a different perspective on life as a nursing student than some of the more traditional nurses. She could see what was being taught, but also what was lacking in nursing education. After working in the ICU and then transitioning to the PACU, she decided to start educating nurses in a non-traditional way – the beginning of her podcast.
Nurse Mo, as she is known, started the Straight A Nursing Podcast. Her podcasts are short and easy to understand with very useful topics for all nurses and nursing students. She also is the author of the book “Nursing School Thrive Guide”, as well as an online resource called Crucial Concepts Bootcamp designed to guide students through their time in school. Maureen is serving students with her desire to educate and her compassion for the difficult road to becoming a nurse.
