Uncle Walter's Year of Wonder

Uncle Walter looks back on his days growing up through a year of tales from the Grey Water Area. February, a time of deep snow-fall, with memories of being the youngest, buried in the snow, and a brotherly relationship forever changed.

Show Notes

Uncle Walter's Year of Wonder. Near Lake Huron, in the Grey Water Area, Uncle Water recalls growing up in the 70's, before computers, before unsocial media, and before people forgot what was important.

February brings a lot of snow in the Kitten Sate. Lakeshore effect snow causes drifts that make getting out and about difficult, especially  in the country side.

And the deep snow brings memories of snowball fights, and of being the youngest sibling, the youngest cousin, and an all round target for those who are simply glad that they are no longer the smallest in the group.

Then there's Henry, Walter's older brother, who should be looking out for Walter. But Henry is a much older teenager, with all the peer pressure that age brings, plus the tug of leaving the family home not far away to think about.

And when Walter is left to the mercy of Henry's friend Carl Stadler,  someone everyone is scared of, Walter's relationship with his brother is never the same again.

Listen as Uncle Walter tells a February tale that changed his life. Featuring Marty Garavaglia as Uncle Walter.
