Kasra Dash: If you're looking for a consistent flow of enquiries for garage doors, this video is for you. We have worked with a lot of garage door companies when it comes to garage door repairs and garage door maintenance. So we know exactly what type of strategies work and what type of strategies you should avoid. In this video, we are going to break down all of the different strategies. So, James, take it away. James Dooley: Step number one, what I would be looking to do to grow is a Google Business Profile. If you already have one, I would be reaching out to all my existing clients to get as many five star reviews as possible. It is a great way for a Google Business Profile to generate more leads. There is also getting citations, doing Google Business Profile posts and uploading photos. So that is definitely step one to generate more local leads. Kasra Dash: Step number two is to bolster your Google Business Profile by creating dedicated service pages for each individual service as SEO optimised pages on your website. The good thing is that when you start doing that, it helps rank your SEO page. There is also a higher chance of your Google Business Profile ranking and showing up for those keywords. So you indirectly get more phone calls as well. James Dooley: If you want more local leads, another option is PPC lead generation. That is pay per click within Google or Bing where you target bottom of funnel keywords to generate more enquiries. The difficult part is you need a good PPC agency. There is click fraud. You also need a negative keyword list so you avoid job seekers and irrelevant clicks. PPC can work well, but in the wrong hands you can waste a lot of money. Kasra Dash: Then you have meta ads like Facebook and Instagram. The next time somebody goes on Facebook, they might be scrolling and see your ad. You have two main options. Option A is lead forms, which are very easy to run and keep the user on Facebook. The downside is the quality might not be great, though you can add more questions to improve it. Then you have conversion ads which send users to your website where they fill in your contact form. James Dooley: Another way to grow more local leads is organic social media. Posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram works well. Reddit and Quora are big too if you can answer questions. Organic social media is a great way to generate more local leads. Kasra Dash: With organic social media, it is a volume game. You must upload consistently, whether on a daily schedule or weekly schedule. You might set a target of five videos per week. Sticking to that is important for algorithms like YouTube and Twitter. James Dooley: What are your thoughts on using AI agents? For example, teaming up with someone to use N8N to automate and schedule social media posts. Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence for lead generation. Would you work with an AI consultant to set that up? Kasra Dash: You can definitely set up AI agents to crop videos and autopublish to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Another thing I would focus on is AI search. People are slowly starting to search in engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. If your brand is not showing up in any of those, you will have an issue generating leads on those platforms. James Dooley: If you are looking for more business leads in the local area, you can also team up with tradespeople websites. That includes Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader and Rated People. All these platforms can generate more local leads. You must track KPIs to see your return on investment. Track cost per lead, cost per acquisition and your ROI. These tradespeople platforms can work very well. We also have videos comparing Checkatrade with FatRank, Bark with FatRank, Rated People with FatRank and Builder Builder with FatRank. So Kasra, what are your thoughts on lead generation companies as opposed to tradespeople companies? Kasra Dash: With lead generation companies, you should always do your due diligence. If you are in a specific niche, make certain the lead generation company has generated leads in that industry before. You should also have a strategy call with them. Explain your budget and how many leads you want. Make sure your KPIs align. You also need to know what type of leads they provide. Are they exclusive leads, or are they shared leads? Many platforms like Bark and Checkatrade send shared leads. When we speak to business owners, that is one of their biggest pain points. They say it becomes a race to the bottom on price. These are the questions I would be asking before partnering with a lead generation company. James Dooley: If anyone is interested in generating more local leads, head over to FatRank.com where we offer a commission based lead generation service. You only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs. You pay nothing per lead. You only pay once the job is completed and you are paid. So go to FatRank.com to see whether you qualify. But let’s expand a bit. What are your thoughts on inbound lead generation versus outbound lead generation? Kasra Dash: I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate from lead to paying customer is much higher. The last stat I saw was 16.1 percent converting into a paying customer, compared to 1.4 percent for outbound leads. James Dooley: Yeah, that is ten to twelve times more conversion. It is crazy how much higher it is. Outbound requires a lot of volume, whether cold calling, cold emailing or using LinkedIn Sales Navigator. It usually needs more staff. People think outbound leads are free, but there is still the cost of sending emails and paying a sales team. So yes, inbound is far better. A common question people ask is whether real time leads matter. Kasra Dash: Real time leads are very important. Internally, we saw that real time leads convert around 63 percent higher. We used to think five minutes was good. Then we saw that responding within one minute massively increased conversions. When an enquiry comes in and you call or email straightaway saying “Thanks for the enquiry” and then gather more information, the conversion rate jumps. James Dooley: Not every company needs to respond in under a minute, but it is one of the things we look at when partnering with businesses. Many businesses fail because they go on holiday and no one answers the leads, even though we still send them. There are lots of small details we check when partnering with companies. The best advice to anyone wanting to scale and get consistent high quality leads is to fill out the form at FatRank. The team will tell you whether you are a good fit, why you might not be a fit and what you should do next. So I hope you found these strategies useful for a garage door company.
