भगवद्भक्तः कुलशेखरः

'मुकुन्दमाला' नामकस्य उत्कृष्टस्य स्तोत्रस्य रचयिता अस्ति भगवद्भक्तः कुलशेखरः । केरलदेशस्य राज्ञः दृढव्रतस्य पुत्रः अयं राज्ये सुसमृद्धिं सम्पाद्य सदा रामध्याने निरतः भवति स्म । कदाचित् रामकथाश्रवणसमये कथाकारः वदति '.....श्रीरामः एकाकितया खरदूषणाभ्यां सह युद्धाय गतवान्’ इति । कुलशेखरः कथाश्रवणे तावत् तन्मयः आसीत् यत् मया श्रूयमाणा कथा इत्यपि विस्मृत्य झटिति उत्थाय प्रासादं गत्वा श्रीरामस्य साहाय्यार्थं सेनां सज्जीकृतवान् । यदा ते ततः गन्तुम् उद्युक्ताः तदा कथाकारः अवदत् 'श्रीरामः खरदूषणादिसहितां राक्षससेनां संहृतवान्' इति । तत् श्रुत्वा निश्चिन्ततां प्राप्य राजा कुलशेखरः प्रत्यावर्तनाय सेनाम् आदिष्टवान् । एवम् आसीत् तस्य रामभक्तिः ।

King Kulasekhara, having brought great prosperity to his kingdom, was deeply devoted to Lord Rama. One day, during a recitation of Rama’s story, he became so engrossed that he forgot it was just a narration. Hearing that Rama had gone alone to battle against Khara and Dushana, he immediately prepared his army to assist. Just as they were about to march, the narrator revealed that Rama had already defeated the demons. Relieved, the king called off his troops. Such was his unwavering devotion.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
